Queerbaiting is a marketing technique for fiction and entertainment in which creators hint at, but then do not actually depict, same-sex romance or other LGBTQ representation.
This includes but is not limited to Harry Potter (Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald), House (Gregory House and James Wilson), Once Upon a Time (Emma Swan and Regina Mills), Sherlock (John Watson and Sherlock Holmes), Supernatural (Dean Winchester and Castiel), and more.
